The breakfast prepared by Chika was very luxurious.
There was white rice, grilled fish, pork miso soup, dashimaki, and simmered vegetables.
It was a purely Japanese-style menu.
Chika, wearing an apron, was proud of herself. Her ample b*****s, visible even through the apron, swayed slightly.
“How do you like it? Toru?”
“It’s amazing… Konoe-san is such a good cook.”
“I’ve improved since then. Not only did I get good grades at school, but I am also training to be a bride.”
Chika was very proud. Aino, on the other hand, had a sparkle in her eyes.
“It looks so delicious!”
“I can’t cook at all, so I envy you.”
“Anyone can do this once they get used to it. Do you want me to teach you?”
“Are you sure?”
Aino and Chika are unexpectedly talking to each other in a friendly manner. They had been flirting and sparking with Toru in the bedroom just a few minutes before.
Toru did not understand this kind of friendliness that is peculiar to girls.
He had never really interacted with girls before, except for his classmate Asuka. So this situation of suddenly living with two beautiful girls was beyond Toru’s capacity.
At the dining table, Aino sits to Toru’s left and Chika in front of him.
Aino and Chika stare happily at Toru’s face and giggle.
Toru put his chopsticks in his mouth.
The food tasted as good as it looked. Toru devoured the fluffy, flavor-soaked dashimaki with ease.
When he looked up after taking a breath, his eyes met Chika’s. Chika was happy to see Toru eating.
“It’s kind of funny because you look like you’re enjoying it.”
“It’s actually very tasty. I don’t think it’s something that just anyone can get used to.”
“Oh, really? Thank you…”
“I’m the one who should be thanking you.”
“It’s no … big deal. But …”
“It’s nice to hear Toru say it tastes good…”
Chika said in a fading little voice, her face reddening. Toru would also be flustered by her reaction.
Aino looks at Toru and Chika with a complicated expression on her face.
At the sight of Aino’s gaze, Chika awkwardly looks away.
The emotions of the three were very subtle. Aino is reserved toward Chika, his former fiancée, and Chika is also considerate toward Aino, his current fiancée.
They fight over Toru, sometimes emotionally, but not always.
Aino smiled gently.
“I would have preferred to live alone with Toru-kun, … but I’m looking forward to living with Konoe-san, too.”
Chika’s eyes widened in surprise.
Toru was also surprised. What does tha mean?
Aino took a delicious bite of grilled fish. Even though she is of Scandinavian descent, she was born and raised in Japan, so she ate the fish with the bones removed quite neatly.
(That’s a bit attractive…)
Toru thought about that when he saw Aino’s meal. Aino chuckled.
“Because of Konoe-san, I can have such a delicious breakfast, and she’s even going to teach me how to cook.”
“Well, I don’t feel bad that she’s happy to see me, but …”
“I’m also happy to be friends with a pretty girl like Konoe-san.”
Chika looked away shyly. Chika is a rather pushy type and may be vulnerable to a straightforward expression of goodwill.
“Well, I-I won’t allow you and Luthi-san to do anything indecent with each other by flattering me like that, okay?”
“I’m not flattering you at all.”
“But to Luthi-san, I’m a … distraction, right?”
Aino shook her head once and for all. Then she tilted her head and smiled.
“Because, Toru-kun is already mine. I don’t have to worry about Konoe-san taking him away from me.”
It was a clear declaration of war.
Chika’s face turned red.
“You said it! I don’t care if you regret it!”
“I won’t regret it. Toru-kun is by my side.”
Aino and Chika’s gazes crossed.
“Looking forward to the future, Konoe-san?”
“Yes. I’m looking forward to it too…!”
The two were no longer reserved, but bared their rivalry to each other. Toru felt nervous.
Even though the cohabitation is still scheduled to continue.
Toru did not yet know that a new crisis would come to this shared life.
The secretary of the Konoe family, Fuyuka Tokieda, would not allow this situation to continue.
